THE "Del Boy" Duchess of York has run up debts totalling millions which are threatening to spiral out of control.
Sources close to her have revealed how she sponges and haggles to try to keep up a royal lifestyle she can no longer afford. And how she now faces financial ruin owing as much as £4million.
Last week we caused a worldwide sensation when we exposed the Duchess, 50, for trying to sell access to ex-husband Prince Andrew for £500,000.
We secretly filmed her pocketing £27,000 as a down-payment from an undercover reporter in order to fix up lucrative deals with the Duke, who was unaware of her plan.
In our sensational video she claimed she "didn't have a pot to p*** in".
But today we can reveal Fergie's financial mess is far worse than that.
One insider revealed: "She's so close to it all collapsing. If everyone she owed money suddenly asked for it back she'd be finished."
As the Duchess flew back to Britain for a showdown with the Prince our whistle- blower told how Fergie:
- HAS a list of nearly 200 DEBTORS whose loans total £4 million.
- IS now so skint she uses her DAUGHTERS' credit cards to stay afloat.
- EXPECTS staff to work for FREE and use their own cash to bail her out.
- YET one day blew more than £4,000 on HAIR ACCESSORIES.
Our informant said: "Fergie's no longer a royal but lives an extremely regal lifestyle. Yet behind the scenes it's like Del Boy. Everything is on approval. Her staff are always cutting corners, trying to get a bit longer at a hotel for free, getting everything to be invoiced. It was embarrassing.
"Her staff are instructed so when if they are presented with a bill, they'd look offended and say: 'Surely the Duchess isn't expected to pay for this?'
"She was haemorrhaging money. One day she spent £4,000 on hair accessories.
"She's so skint she's using her daughters' credit cards to stay afloat."
And the insider criticised the way the Duchess used her staff:
Yesterday Fergie smiled nervously after landing at Heathrow on her way to crisis talks at Royal Lodge. It is believed she may seek a bigger divorce settlement - more in line with the £17million paid to Diana, than the £15,000 a year she was given in 1996.
THE Duchess has paid back the £27,000 "cash for access" down-payment she was filmed taking. We've donated it to Great Ormand Street to buy a portable ultrasound machine.
I'm show sorry
